Richard (Dick) Gardner, 75, passed away on October 26, 2020. His greatest personal achievements included his 40-year marriage to Andrea (Jo) Gardner – the love of his life, and the home in Beatty they built together from the ground up.  He had 5 amazing, successful children, 13 exceptional grandchildren, and 7 wonderful great-grandchildren.

Professional achievements were many, including 3 tours in Vietnam with the US Navy, founding member of the Beatty VFW Post 12108, Quartermaster and Adjunct for the state of Nevada VFW, member of the Kiwanis Club, and a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge.  He served on the Beatty Town Advisory Board for 10 years, the Nye County Board of Equalization, the Nevada Site Specific Advisory Board, as well as Nye County Commissioner Elect for District 1.

He lived a life of service to his family and community.  He was a loving husband, an amazing father and grandfather, and an integral part of his community.  He was loved and respected by all, and will be missed by many.
Services will be held in the Beatty Park on November 7th at 3 pm.  Covid restrictions per state requirements will apply.  In lieu of flowers, there are a number of local organizations that he was passionate about.  Please call the Beatty Town Office at (775) 553-2050 for donation details.
